WHO WE SERVE
Helping Veterans
Our organization supports veterans of the U.S. armed forces who face spinal cord injuries, diseases, or dysfunctions. We provide advocacy, benefits assistance, health-care access, and programs aimed at independence and dignity.
What We Do
When the first veterans returned from World War II with spinal cord injuries, there were few resources and limited access to care. They resolved to live with dignity and to ensure others would not face the same obstacles alone. From that commitment, PVA was born.
Today, our chapter builds on that legacy across Southern California — continuing the work of advocacy, service, and empowerment.
Healthcare Advocacy & Research – We champion high-quality health care and medical research for those with spinal cord injury or dysfunction.
Benefits & Legal Support – We help veterans secure the benefits they’ve earned and remove barriers to accessibility, mobility, and opportunity.
Education & Independence – Through educational resources, adaptive sports, recreation, and employment services, we empower our members to lead full and productive lives.
Our Values
Respect & Dignity – Every veteran deserves to be treated with the highest respect.
Independence – We focus on restoring rights, access, and mobility for our members.
Advocacy – We don’t just support; we actively push for systems that work for our veterans.
Community – Our chapter is a community of service, support, and shared purpose.
