Elmer enlisted in the marines buddy plan in Kansas City, Mo. (KC) with his first cousin and split a 4 year tour from 1972 to 1974. From KC, Camp Pendleton, Los Angeles to Pomona, Ca. Elmer graduated from Cal Poly Pomona School of Architecture with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree (BArch). He retired with 25 years of service from Los Angeles County Department Public Works. His wife and he recently celebrated thier 43rd year anniversary with our one son, two daughters, one granddaughter and four grandsons.
He recently injured his spinal cord in 2015. After rehabilitation, Veterans Administration of Long Beach SCI therapy, Paralyzed Veterans of American California Chapter (PVACC) sponsoring adaptive sports and his fellow veterans encouraging him while he discovered his second passion: Helping & Serving fellow veterans. He will listen and work diligently to resolve veterans needs and concerns and will be an advocate to secure the care for veterans with the most catastrophic and acute medical needs.
