Alejandro Calvo

Alejandro Calvo (Treasurer)

Alex is a US Army Veteran and served in Berlin, German from 1989 – 1991 during the historic moment when the Berlin Wall fell. He sustained a cervical injury in 1995 at the age of 25 in Puerto Rico. With limited resources and support, the PVA assisted Alex in relocating to Long Beach and starting a new life. He attended Long Beach City College and then Cal State University, Long Beach, earning a degree in Recreation Studies. Alex has a passion for helping people and giving back to the PVA as the organization helped him rebuild his life after injury. He has been an active member in the local chapter, has organized many events, and is the co-founder of the chapter’s annual Adaptive Sports Expo.
